Deraja is a German non-profit organization dedicated to preparing young Kenyans for apprenticeships in Germany and matching them with employers. We focus on providing these life-changing opportunities for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Deraja is a bridge

Our mission is to prepare nurses and candidates for vocational training in Germany.
Deraja is currently supported by the Livelihood Impact Fund and aims to give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds this great opportunity.
Our candidates are highly suitable and motivated. We aim for a good fit between workers and employers, to ensure successful, long-term employment.

Cultural orientation
Pre-departure workshops
In Germany , we support our candidates’ transition by:
Helping with first steps in the country (housing, paperwork etc.)
Connecting them with mentors
Building a strong peer network
